Hypnotherapy For Stopping Smoking

Stop Smoking Hypnosis - How it Works

Stop smoking hypnosis works by helping people access their subconscious mind and change the deeply ingrained thought patterns and behaviours associated with smoking.

During a hypnotherapy session, the hypnotherapist will guide the person into a deep state of relaxation, where their conscious mind is quieted and their subconscious mind is more open to suggestion.

The hypnotherapist may use positive affirmations and visualisations to help the person overcome their addiction and develop new healthy habits and behaviours.

Why Can't I Stop Smoking?

Why Can't I Stop Smoking

There are many reasons why people may struggle to quit smoking.

Smoking addiction is often deeply ingrained in a person's habits and behaviours, and can be difficult to overcome without professional help.

Psychological factors such as stress, anxiety, and depression can also contribute to smoking addiction, as can social and environmental factors such as peer pressure or exposure to smoking cues.

Quitting smoking is a complex process, and often requires a combination of behavioural, cognitive, and lifestyle interventions to achieve long-term success.

A hypnotherapist can help address these underlying factors and provide the support and guidance needed to successfully quit smoking.

What is the most effective method of Stopping Smoking?

What is the most effective method of Stopping Smoking?

The most effective method for stopping smoking is a combination of both behavioural and cognitive interventions.

This involves addressing the psychological and emotional factors that contribute to smoking addiction, as well as modifying habits and behaviours associated with smoking. Hypnotherapy is a highly effective method for achieving this, as it can help people overcome the psychological and emotional barriers that prevent them from quitting.

Other methods that can be combined with hypnotherapy include counselling, coaching, and lifestyle changes - all of which can be incorporated in to our our sessions.

How successful is hypnotherapy for stopping smoking?

Hypnotherapy has been shown to be a highly effective method for helping people quit smoking.

According to research, hypnotherapy can be twice as effective as other smoking cessation methods such as nicotine replacement therapy or willpower alone.

In controlled scientific studies, in which every participant is given the exactly same hypnotherapy treatment have found that approximately 50% of people who try hypnotherapy to quit smoking are successful in quitting long-term.

This is a significantly higher success rate compared to other methods, where success rates are typically around 20-30%.

1-2-1 Hypnotherapy is much higher success rate because your hypnotherapy is specifically focused on you, and your individual challenges around stopping smoking - as opposed to a "one-size, fits all" approach, as would be expected in a scientific study setting.

All that is needed to get the most from your hypnotherapy for stopping smoking is a strong desire to stop smoking permanently and an open mind to the process.

How many hypnosis sessions are needed for stopping smoking?
The number of hypnosis sessions required to quit smoking can vary from person to person.

My standard course is 2 x 2 hour sessions, which has proven to be sufficient for many people.  However, it may be that some people benefit from additional support with the journey to a life after smoking.

Generally, most hypnotherapists recommend a minimum of 3-4 sessions to see significant results. This is because smoking is often deeply ingrained in a person's habits and behaviour, and it takes time to address the underlying psychological factors that contribute to smoking addiction. Some people may require more sessions depending on the severity of their addiction and other personal factors.

For some people, smoking may be linked to their wider mental health.  It may be that it is worthwhile (or perhaps even essential) to spend time on helping them to overcome other anxieties or low mood in order to give themselves the best opportunity to achieve their goal to stop smoking permanently.
Do Stop Smoking Apps Work?

Quit smoking apps can be helpful tools for people who are trying to quit smoking.

These apps typically offer a range of features, including tracking smoking habits, providing motivational messages, and connecting people with support groups. While there is limited research on the effectiveness of quit smoking apps, some studies have found that they can be helpful in improving motivation and adherence to quitting smoking.

My personal view is that a course of 121 hypnotherapy for Stopping Smoking is much more likely to help an individual achieve a better outcome due to the personalised and bespoke nature, matched to the individual's specific challenges
